Well...
I went to the emergency room today around 7 in the morning. I`ve been having serious chest pains on my left side for about 4 days already, and this morning it was so unbearable. I couldn`t even take regular gulps of air. So my mom dropped off my sis and Rommel at school and then came back home and brought me to the E.R.
We got to the hospital to find the E.R. waiting room surprisingly not filled with people. But it still took about 30 f*ck`in mins. just to get help and checked out. The whole time in the waiting room, I was in intense pain. I almost reached the verge of crying... yes it was that bad.
So my name is called and they hook me up to monitors... and more monitors... and even more monitors, just for precaution and checking if my chest pain was caused by my heart. My vitals we're normal (thank God) and the second assumption was of my lung. So some guy takes me into the X-Ray room and takes a X-Ray of my chest.
About 10 mins. later, the doctor comes in and breaks the news to me...
"Ryan, you have a break in the lining of your lung."
Basically, I have a damned hole in my lung. The condition is, not sure on the spelling, pneomothorax.
When you breathe in, the air goes into your lungs, correct? And when you breathe out, all the air is supposed to go into your blood stream and the carbon dioxide goes out, correct? Well with me, since there is a hole in my lung, air seeps out of my lung and into my chest cavity, causing the air to be trapped in my chest and the air then compresses everything inside my chest. And since there is air in my chest, a part of my lung is rubbing against my rib cage, causing the pain. So thats basically what`s going on inside me at the moment. The doctor said that I should take it easy. Just a precaution that the hole doesn`t get any bigger. If there is more and more air coming in, my lung will collapse under the pressure.
I am going back tomorrow and they will decide if I should receive surgery to patch the hole up.
I am scared out of my damn mind and never have been so nervouse in my life.
They gave me no pain killers or anything so right now I`m taking it all in... and at the moment, the pain is coming back again so I`m about to go laydown and take it easy. Later guys...
